TODAY'S READING ASSIGNMENT-The elements of Design PROXIMITY, CONTRAST, ALIGNMENT & REPETITION.  Using the handout provided CREATE A BETTER ADVERTISING  FLYER.  Using the correct proximity, contrast, alignment, & repetition.  You will print for a test grade after you complete the quiz below.  If you get time to print PRINT BUT DO NOT GET UP FROM YOUR SEAT!!

NEXT WEEKS ASSIGNMENT-Begin MS Word Assignment#2-Use DTP booklet on cabinet by door.
Create 4 text boxes with an example of each below.

1. Example of Proximity-items relating to each other should be grouped close together
2. Example of Contrast- If the elements (type color, size, line, thickness, shape, space, etc) are not the same then make them very different. Contrast is often the most important visual attraction on a page.
3. Example of Alignment- Nothing should be placed on the page arbitrarily. Every element should have some visual connection with another element on the page. This creates a clean, sophisticated, fresh look.
4. Example of Repetition- Repeat visual elements of design throughout the piece. You can repeat color, shape, texture, spatial relationships, line thickness, sizes, etc. This helps develop the organization and strengthen the unity.
